The Harlem Shake is almost upon Dubai in the form of the American DJ and producer who wrote the track that has resulted in millions of views on YouTube.

UAE movers and shakers will get the chance to perform live with Bauer in Dubai by posting their Harlem Shake moves online.

However, not every Harlem Shake story has a happy ending.

An increasing number of Harlem Shakers are finding that doing the crazy dance can have serious consequences – depending where you do it.

A group of students performed a Harlem Shake and filmed it onboard a Frontier Airlines flight. According to media reports, the students apparently asked permission from the cabin crew before embarking on the dance on the flight from Colorado Springs to San Diego but the FAA is investigating the incident to check whether all safety measures were followed. And cabin crew could be in trouble if the dance was seen as endangering the flight.

Three Australian miners in the West of the country were fired for doing the Harlem Shake in a mine.

How to do the Harlem Shake?

- Not more than 30-second homemade video

- 15 seconds of a single person dancing to a clip of the track ‘Harlem Shake’ by American producer Bauer.  The dancer is often masked or helmeted, but the other people present appear to be unaware of the dancer.

- 15 seconds of entire crowd dancing, clothed (preferably) in unusual or outrageous outfits and performing a variety of dance moves, seemingly uncoordinated.

- Lion roar at end of 30 seconds to end.
